Having a self-care routine is not a common thing for everyone. It requires time and consequently organization. Most of the people don’t even realize the importance of having a self-care routine. However, it might affect your personal mental health as well as your physical health a lot. Maintaining a healthy relationship with yourself is a must-do to acquire better self-esteem and self-love. This is the basis of your productivity, motivation, fulfillment, and achievement.

There isn’t one ultimate self-care routine it depends on you and only you. Here, I’ll share mine to help those of you who don’t have any create and improve theirs.

6:30 am time to rise and shine

A few weeks ago, I decided to wake up earlier to free up for one hour every day and thus take some time for myself. I love writing and doing this in the morning provides me with positive vibes and motivation for the whole coming day. After all, what better way to start your day than by doing what you truly love? Plus, I discovered I’m way more productive in the morning, which is great for my personal writing objectives.

Holy Breakfast

To me, breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I love having a good and warm cup of tea, and a delicious healthy breakfast to kick off the day. In general, I enjoy that time by reading some interesting articles on Medium or on several blogs I like. I hate being rushed when savoring my breakfast so I make sure to have enough time otherwise I feel frustrated. It’s kind of my fuel time.

Walk, walk, walk

I like walking to my job in the morning. Fresh and cold air make me even more awake. It’s also a way to be only with myself and take my mind off for a moment before the work pressure. I find it very releasing and relaxing. No need to mention the exercise part of this walk, which is very good for my physical health.

Make every moment yours

Every single little moment you take for yourself should be unique.

For instance, at work, I like having a good and (once again) healthy snack around 4:30 supported with a good cup of tea while discussing with a colleague or reading. I appreciate that moment a lot because I make it mine and enjoyable.

In the evening, after dinner, I simply try to take even just half an hour for me. How? Bathroom time becomes relax time with a warm bath, a good book, and body lotion, or useless time becomes a cozy time in front of a nice episode of my lastest TV show with a perfumed candle and a cup of tea or hot chocolate.

Do you get it? The most important is to convert every moment into “me-time”. And even more important, balance things out! Work-life should stay at work not at home. It’s all about a state of mind, condition yourself to appreciate every moment.

This was my personal self-care routine feel free to get inspired by it and to adapt it. Find what makes you smile and feel good then make sure to live those moments every day.
